Based on Kirkpatrick’s model, the success of a training workshop comes for 25% from what is done before the workshop, 25% for what occurs during the workshop and 50% from what is done after the workshop. This is why, at Equoranda, we accompany you before, during and after the workshop.
Before the workshop
Work before the workshop addresses two objectives: develop the involvement of the participants and of their managers.
How do we do it? We work with managers to carefully understand their expectations and establish with them a pre-workshop communication plan, which gives context and expectations of the workshop.
We also involve the future participants through some pre-work, so they can reflect on it before they actually participate to the workshop.
For example, for a training workshop on ”Influencing in a multicultural environment” for one of our clients in the health industry, we shared the key concepts of the workshop with the engineering manager and built a communication plan for his team, so he was able to share with them, in advance, the purpose of the workshop and his expectations.
During the workshop
We deliberately keep the group to a small size, to ensure participants have sufficient practice sessions and receive enough feedback. During our training workshops, each participant receives a personalized feedback from the trainer.
After the workshop
Work after the workshop is there to help participants transfer efficiently on the job the skills they acquired during the training, and to develop their supporting network during this transfer phase.
To reach this goal, we systematically include some follow-up after our workshops: this follow-up can be of various forms, such as follow-up through email, phone conference, individual coaching, or group session.
For example, for the « Influencing in a multicultural environment » workshop mentioned above, each participant signed a follow-up partnership contract with his/her manager, benefited from an 8-week email follow-up with the trainer and from a group follow-up session 2 months after the workshop. Besides, we organized debriefing sessions on the workshop and the follow-up process with the manager, the HR director and the European Training manager.
